New friends

I wanted to share a project undertaken by one of my studio-mates here at Stajson-K in Sandnes, Norway. Turi spent more than 20 years designing ceramic wares for the company Figgjo Fajanse – Stavangerflint AS. These days she works with textile and mixed media. This commission was to design manhole covers for Sandnes. She drew her inspiration from drawings of plants and flowers from her garden. I love that the local council documented the process from design to installation....I wish this happened more often with public art commissions!
